What we've done and learned

Employee #1

Pierre joined the team! It's really exciting to have him on board. Pierre was initially our design partner for TalkToDART, our first product. He showed great passion every time we called him for a user testing session. I asked him if he wanted to be part of the team, and he said yes. It almost felt like getting a "yes" from a marriage proposal – though I am not married yet. He mentioned that it was his responsibility to make this product successful, and I really respect his attitude. Let's go, Pierre!

Pado

Dylan and Pierre have been working together on TalkToDART, while Woohyeok and I have been focusing on Nexus. I know this might seem unusual for a startup, but please bear with me. I had to work on TalkToDART this week because implementing a new datagrid for the report had become a bottleneck for the team.

Now, why is our team working like this? I guess you could say we're ambitious, looking at it from a positive perspective, but also greedy, from a negative one. I announced to the team three weeks ago that I would be focusing solely on Nexus with Woohyeok because I believe this is actually a moonshot project that could be hugely impactful. I left Dylan as the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for TalkToDART while remaining as the top management for the product.

TalkToDART

For those of you who are unfamiliar with TalkToDART, it's essentially a financial analyst tool based on DART, Korea's version of EDGAR. We've been busy developing a new information retrieval engine for the product, and Dylan has been working tirelessly. Salute to him. Anyway, he has made an incredible amount of progress in this area, and our newest member, Pierre, who is quite discerning, has shown approval to some extent. Meanwhile, I have redesigned the database schema to allow for more convenient fetching and processing of financial data and have given the existing product a facelift for a better experience in interpreting numerical data.

Nexus

Woohyeok and I have been working on Nexus, but he has been preoccupied lately as he was appointed as CPO of SWING. He also caught a severe cold, making his life quite challenging. However, we managed to conduct another "Monday" last week, because we agreed that we should focus our attention on something bigger: digital marketing.

We devised a new experiment to simulate results from running campaigns on Meta Ads Manager. We are planning to run campaigns for startups around us to see if the results align with our experiments, which will be conducted concurrently. Woohyeok is responsible for sourcing the clients, while I will be preparing the simulation environment. I'm crossing my fingers for some plausible results!

What we'll do

  • John: Finish developing Nexus Playground v0.2 and run experiments to assess whether or not to continue the project.
  • Dylan: Complete the development of the RAG engine and add embeddings to the newly designed database.
  • Pierre: Assist Dylan by finishing the construction of the database and developing a new frontend interface for viewing the results.
  • Woohyeok: Recover.

Another exciting week is about to begin! We'll see you next week for more exciting news about our progress.
