Week 14 report - 2024
This week's report is going to focus on retrospecting our past execution. It will be based on events from the past week.
I got attacked on Seoul National University's online community, Everytime. The reason that I am saying that it wasn't Pado but me, is because people specifically insulted me. Not everyone framed me as a fraud. Some even sent support to us. However, it kind of pissed me off that young students or alumni were all this pessimistic about everything. I had the urge to bite back at them. But I held back and just calmly explained our view of the LLM market. It bothered me for a day or two, and eventually, I got totally relieved from it by the next event.
I watched the user testing videos recorded by Pierre. Pierre took his time and effort to schedule tests for v0.2 of TalkToDART, and he did a fantastic job of eliciting lively reactions from potential users. The first video hit me pretty hard because, over the past two weeks, I had been focusing on planning our roadmap and framing our view of the business. After watching all five videos, I got pretty serious and realized that our product needs another breakthrough, and fast. It was time to come back to reality.
After the team had assessed the current situation, each of us took time to think about immediate actions that needed to be taken. We assembled a blitz meeting on Sunday and shared our thoughts with each other. In short, our conclusion can be summarized in a single sentence: Don't ever compromise. We've reflected upon our past actions and discovered that we compromised on some parts of the product, which led to causing some poor experiences. We decided to create a visual representation of the process inside TalkToDART and leave a sign to show which part each of us is working on and sync on a daily basis.
To summarize, we've literally gotten our asses kicked and figured out what needed to be done and how we can communicate much better. Every week is a struggle, and every challenge is a new start for us. Can't wait to confront more hardships along our journey. LFG 🔥🚂
